I've consulted with a couple doctors in the past couple of weeks, because I'm now considering having my first baby (no definite plans yet, but I want to get all the info I can, just in case). Both doctors have told me that being vegan is perfectly fine when pregnant. In fact, the only thing they said to avoid is (non-vegan) sushi. It's really only non-vegans who need to alter their diets. We are already on the right path to healthy pregnancies.
